Prophet Ismail
Prophet Ismail (also spelled Ishmael) is an important figure in Islamic and Judeo-Christian traditions. According to these traditions, he was the first son of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his wife Hajar (Hagar). Prophet Ismail's birth was a miracle as his parents were both very old and had been unable to have children. However, Allah (God) blessed them with a son and they named him Ismail. Prophet Ibrahim loved his son dearly and Allah chose him to be a prophet. Prophet Ismail's story is one of perseverance and faith. When he was still a young child, Allah commanded Prophet Ibrahim to take Hajar and Ismail to a barren valley in Arabia called Makkah (Mecca).
